1. Who teaches the classes ?
The IITK Taekwondo Club is pleased to have 5th Dan Master Balram Yadav
2. What will I learn ?
A typical class begins with some warm-up exercises and stretching. Next the class practices basic kicks and footwork, complemented by punches and blocks. Poomse, which are memorized forms consisting of series of basic moves, and occasionally self-defense techniques are included. In the latter half of class we often practice kicking of paddles and partner drills with combination kicks. During the classes emphasis is given on sparring to prepare members for tournament competition.
3. When can I join the class ?
You can join the club on any working day as per the schedules given.
4. Can I wear my old uniform in class ?
Only uniforms without a logo of other martial arts studios or programs are allowed in class. You can as well buy a dress at this club
5. What are my opportunities to compete ?
Each year Kanpur Taekwondo association holds district level competitions. This is a selection for State level competition Those who get through the state level competitions will be selected for National level competitions This is a good opportunity for IITK TKD members to enter poomsae and/or sparring competition.
6. When are the belt promotion tests conducted ?
Belt promotions for lower belts(white, yellow, green)are conducted ones in 2 months. As the seniority increases, the period for tests will also increase varying from 4 months to 1 year.
7. How much time will take me to qualify for Black belt test ?
Depending on your practice, power, and capabilities it may take 3 years for you to qualify for Black belt test.
8. Are there any rules I am supposed to follow in class ?
An integral part of Taekwondo training is the commitment to learn and follow the etiquette that is unique to this martial art/sport and to incorporate the elements of courtesy, self-discipline and respect into your daily life
9. What is the Fee structure of the club ?
Fee Structure of the club is given below
During Semester - Rs 700/-
Summer Vacation - Rs 500/-
Winter Vacation - Rs 200/-
Workshop - Rs 0
